Continuous City & Push Pop House imagines a concentrated, linear city set within a forest and surrounded by vegetation. The city is made of five translucent layers, or "blades", that keep it bright and permeable. Each blade holds one of the parts without which there is no city: transport, work and research, commerce, leisure and culture, and housing.
The proposal is organised on four main levels. At ground level lies the urban park, giving access to every space, with walkways, cycle paths and collective vegetable gardens set in the forest. Above it, three suspended streets give each level its own role: the first connects the transport hub with work and research, the second links all the blades together, and the highest joins commerce and leisure with housing. A transport structure with three electric lines serves short, medium and long journeys along the whole city.
Set in the housing blade, the Push Pop House gives its inhabitants the freedom to transform their home. Like the sweet that gives it its name, each floor works as a drawer that slides out or back according to its owners' needs, enlarging or reducing the house and changing it both inside and out. Furniture is recessed into floors and ceilings so that these spaces can move mechanically.
